How a gift annuity works In exchange for your transfer of $2,000.00 or more to The Resurrection League, we will make annuity payments to you for as long as you live. Payment can be made annually or semiannually. A good return on your money The rate paid to you is based on your age at the starting date of annuity. The rate remains fixed for the life of the annuity. For example, for an annuity begun at age 60, the life time rate is 6.9%. At age 75, the rate is 9.2%, and 14.3% at age 90. Your annuity can provide you alone, or for you and a loved one. Since the rate is based on age, a gift annuity is not a beneficial to someone younger than 50. Income security for life The Resurrection League Gift annuity is rock solid, secure. It is backed by the entire assets of The Resurrection League. The amount paid to you never fluctuates regardless of the economy. Your payments will be mailed to you year after year, for as long as you live. Tax benefits for you There are tax benefits in a gift annuity, too. Between 35% to 45% of your annuity is recognized by the IRS as a tax deductible gift in the year the annuity is established. Each payment you receive is only partially taxable. Non-revocable By US Treasury regulations, a gift annuity cannot be canceled and the money withdrawn. Spiritual benefits for you As an annuity Holder, you will be remembered in prayer by all the houses of the Congregation of the Resurrection and in our daily Masses.
